Eagle Crossing North subdivision is in the McCutchanville area just north of Evansville Indiana. It is one of four sections of Eagle Crossing properties located on Old Petersburg Road approximately 2 miles north of the Evansville Dress Regional airport. The area also includes Eagle Crossing West and Eagle Crossing East subdivisions all with many lots facing the Eagle Valley 18 hole golf course.
The Eagle Crossing property was purchased and developed by the BSH Development Company beginning in 1994 and consisted of 291.3 acres of rolling farm land and wooded areas of which 150 acres was dedicated to the golf course and club house. BSH Development Company, B(Roland Brinker), S (Ron, Bart, and Rodney Schutz), H (Patty Hertweck), were the original stockholders with Ron Schutz the principal with 51% of the stock. The Company designed Eagle Crossing East to include 84 residential single family home sights, Eagle Crossing West 85 home sites, and Eagle Crossing North designed to have 88 Patio Home type sites that included building Restrictions and Protective Covenants unique compared to the other subdivisions. (These can be reviewed in the Restrictions/Covenants section of this web site).
The first home was occupied (Roland and Jeanette Brinker) in Eagle Crossing East in 1997. The Eagle Valley Golf Course opened in April 1998. In May of 2000, the original BSH Development Company reorganized and the remaining Eagle Crossing property was restructured with Roland Brinker and Patty Hertweck taking control of the golf course and 30 adjacent home sites in Eagle Crossing North while Bart Schutz continued developing the remaining properties. Dale and JoAnn Westover moved into the first home in Eagle Crossing North on 2140 Bunker Lane in November of 2000.
The Eagle Crossing North Homeowners Association was formed at the initial subdivision meeting on June 17, 2003. At that time it was unanimously approved by the 55 homeowners in attendance, that all home owners would voluntarily contribute $50 annually, which would be used to maintain the common areas at the entrance to Eagle Crossing North that would include mowing, planting trees and flowers, and cover expenses for a planned annual block party for the residents.
As of September 2006, 92% of the residents voluntarily contribute to the fund. Of the 88 home sites, all but three have occupied homes and the remaining lots have been sold with eminent plans for homes.
There is also an active garden committee that has been responsible for considerable new landscaping projects. In addition, there are active committees that plan an annual Block Party, an annual neighborhood rummage sale, a Christmas Open house tour and a luminary weekend over the Christmas Holidays.
Eagle Crossing North is truly a great place to live! |
